The problem
In January 2026 the website was getting about 25 visits a month. The old theme was clunky, hardly anyone visited, and I had no idea what AI assistants said when someone asked them for a photographer in Cambridge.
Constraints
It stayed on WordPress, because it is a site I edit myself. The work had to fit around a working photography business.
What was done
- February 2026: a new website, built from scratch. New structure, clear service pages, clear service areas.
- Then, the fixes Visibility Pilot found under the bonnet: plugins, redirects, headings and structured data.
- The Google Business Profile, completed and made to agree with the website.
- Other sites mentioning the business by name, because AI assistants tend to recommend businesses that others talk about.
The idea behind it: when someone asks an AI assistant for a photographer, they get three names, not ten links. Businesses with clear service areas, a complete Google Business Profile, and mentions on other sites are the ones that tend to make the three.
The outcome
- Visits: about 25 a month in January 2026, about 250 a month by the end of August 2026. Source: the site's own visitor statistics.
- AI answers: named in 21 of 28 answers in the latest check, September 2026. An earlier check, shown in the video, named it in 13 of 20.
- The September 2026 scan: SEO 85, AI visibility 100, Google Business Profile 100.

Limitations, honestly
It is my own business, so there is no independent client here. Several things changed at once, the new site, the fixes, the profile, the mentions, so no single change can take the credit. Spring and summer are the busy season for weddings and graduations, which will have helped the visit numbers. And AI answers change from week to week: 21 of 28 is what the check found in September, not a permanent position.
