What is LLM Optimisation?
LLM Optimisation (sometimes called AI search optimisation or AEO) is the practice of making sure ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude can find, understand and recommend your business when someone asks them for a recommendation. It overlaps with SEO but isn’t the same — AI models pull from different sources, weight them differently, and read content in ways a Google crawler doesn’t.
Is this just SEO with a new name?
Partly. Structured data, clean content, NAP consistency and authoritative mentions help both. What’s genuinely new is writing your pages as directly quotable answers, making sure AI can tell your business apart from similarly-named ones, and getting cited in sources AI models actually quote — which is not always the same as sources Google indexes highly.
Can you guarantee I’ll rank #1 in ChatGPT?
No, and anyone who promises that is misleading you. AI outputs are probabilistic and vary by query, location and model update. What we can promise is measurable improvement for an agreed shortlist of queries against a documented baseline.
How long until I see results?
Some structural fixes (schema, llms.txt, quotable rewrites) can show up in AI answers within weeks. Authority and citation work takes 2–3 months to compound. That’s why the core programme is 90 days, not 14.
Do I need to have SEO in place first?
