Create amazing songs in Suno
I have just found out a way to engineer completely new songs that would sound like your favourite artist. Not the voice of the artist but the style. Especially as you are not allowed to ask for a specific artist in the Suno prompt.
For this to work, you will need a subscription to Suno.com (the $10/month level is fine), an account with ChatGPT (I have a subscription to the Plus level at $20/month) and an Internet connection.
Firstly in ChatGPT, click GPTs in the lefthand sidebar, and in the Search field, type “Suno”.

You will be presented with a list of various GPTs that can help you generate songs for Suno. I chose the first one as it has over 3 million users.
Once in the chat, I asked this GPT the following question:
“What is Jamiroquai style of music as per Suno style description?”
If you want to use this yourself, you can use the prompt like that without the square brackets: “What is [SPECIFIC ARTIST] style of music as per Suno style description?“
The answer came as follows:
đ· Jamiroquaiâs Musical Style
Care about social/environmental issues, but always wrapped in a feelâgood groove
Core Genres:
Funk â Deep, syncopated basslines and dancefloor-ready rhythms
Acid jazz â Jazzy harmonies, rich instrumentation, live band energy
Other Influences:
Disco, soul, R&B, house, electronic (especially from the late â90s onward)
Later albums like Synkronized, Dynamite, and Automaton incorporate nuâdisco, electronic textures, spaceâfunk, and modern dance elements
Mood & Themes:
Retroâfuturistic and psychedelic (e.g., âspace discoâ in Cosmic Girl)
But the the GPT will package it for you to use in Suno as follows:
𧩠Suno AI Style Specification for Jamiroquai
Use this when generating music in their style:
Style:
[Funk-infused acid jazz, live band percussion, punchy bass, disco & spaceâfunk synths, soulful male falsetto with call-and-response vocals]
This captures their energetic fusionâvintage funk rhythms, jazzy sophistication, and that cosmic, retroâfuturistic flavour perfect for a Sunoâstyle prompt.
Let me know if you’d like to generate a sample in this style!
I sometimes add my own style to any style description generated, adding “electro-techno, hypnagogic algorave, Psychedelic Psybient, prog breakbeat, dakar future bass” because I really like those, but it’s totally up to you what you add there at this stage.
Now that you have the style specification, you could try and ask the GPT to generate a few song titles in the vein of that artist. I asked the GPT this question: “Give me ideas of titles of songs that Jamiroquai could sing” (replace “Jamiroquai” with your favourite artist’s name). And the answer was great:
Jamiroquai blends funk, acid jazz, disco, and future soulâwith groove at the core and themes that range from space-age escapism to social commentary. Here are some original song title ideas that would suit Jamiroquaiâs sonic world:
đȘ© Funk & Disco Groove
- âVelvet Velocityâ
- âFunkonautâ
- âMidnight in Stereoâ
- âShake the Cosmosâ
- âChrome Confessionsâ
đ Eco-conscious & Social Commentary
- âPlastic Skyâ
- âOxygen for Saleâ
- âDancing on a Dying Planetâ
- âEarthlight Paradeâ
- âGeneration Mirageâ
đ Retro-Futuristic & Psychedelic
- âNeon Safariâ
- âLove in Low Gravityâ
- âVirtual Loversâ
- âDigital Funk Machineâ
- âJetstream Dreamsâ
Would you like one of these turned into a full Jamiroquai-style song with lyrics and music next?
Wow!
So, now that you have a few song titles, you just have to write the lyrics.
- At this stage, I use two different tools. You can stay in this particular GPT or use a totally different (free) website with which I had great success in the past. But first with this GPT:
I asked “Can you write me a song with verses and choruses under 3 minutes in the style of Jamiroquai called “Funkonaut”?” (using one of the titles above).
Warning: After generating the lyrics, the GPT will say: “Now generating the full song with music 𶔠and offer to take you to a website where you can listen to the music with the lyrics. That website has nothing to do with Suno, so do not fall for it and just click the Deny button.
And the reply:
Title: Funkonaut
Style: [Funk-infused acid jazz, live band percussion, punchy bass, disco & spaceâfunk synths, soulful male falsetto with call-and-response vocals]
Lyrics:
[Intro, Space-Funk Groove]
(Yeah)
(Weâre liftinâ off, babyâhold tight)
Ooooh, FunkonautâŠ
[Verse 1]
Strapped in velvet, boots of chrome
Stereo rockets, takinâ me home
Bassline boosters, groove ignition
Riding high on a funk mission
[Chorus]
Iâm a Funkonaut, breakinâ gravity
Spin the world on a vinyl spree
To the stars where the rhythmâs hot
No rules in space when you funk a lot
(Oh, oh, Funkonautâletâs ride!)
(Groove in orbit, stay fly!)
[Verse 2]
Solar flare in my mirrored shades
Dancinâ through those Milky Waves
Martian DJs spin the light
Jivinâ on beats that bend the night
[Chorus]
Iâm a Funkonaut, breakinâ gravity
Spin the world on a vinyl spree
To the stars where the rhythmâs hot
No rules in space when you funk a lot
(Yeah, come on, Funkonaut!)
(Take it higherâdonât stop!)
[Bridge, Disco Breakdown]
Zero-G and I still move smooth
Bouncinâ to that interstellar groove
Canât come downâIâm too in tune
Moonwalkinâ on Neptune
[Chorus, Final]
Iâm a Funkonaut, breakinâ gravity
Spin the world on a vinyl spree
To the stars where the rhythmâs hot
No rules in space when you funk a lot
(We fly⊠we funk⊠we float⊠we bump)
Funkonaut, yeahâoutta this world!
[Outro, Synth Fadeout]
Oooh, Funkonaut…
Catch me in the starsâŠ
Great! Now, go to Suno.com, choose Create and add the Title, then the Style Description, and then the lyrics. Click Create. Then listen to the generated 2 tracks. You may have to generate more until you reach the quality needed.
Also note that I often use my best Suno tracks to publish them as YouTube Shorts, so they need to be under 3 minutes. Thus I often remove the Bridge and one of the Choruses if there are more than two to shorten the track, you can also choose to Edit the track and remove some bits of the track to make it shorter.
- Using the second lyrics generator @ https://boredhumans.com/lyrics_generator.php
In the Topic field, add the title. In the “In The Style Of” field, add the artist name.

Click Submit. And it gives me the lyrics below:
(Verse 1)
Zoomin’ through the cosmos, feel the rhythm of the night,
Galactic vibes are calling, oh, such a wondrous flight.
Starlit skies above us, weâre dancing on a dream,
Funkonauts together, itâs a cosmic groove supreme.
(Chorus)
Funkonaut, letâs rise up high,
Floating through the ether, just you and I.
Groove with the beats of the universe,
In this funky ride, we’re ready to immerse.
(Verse 2)
Gravity can’t hold us, weâll break every chain,
Floating on the frequencies, love’s the only strain.
Astro-funk vibrations, tune into the sound,
With every beat, weâre spiraling, freedom weâve found.
(Chorus)
Funkonaut, letâs rise up high,
Floating through the ether, just you and I.
Groove with the beats of the universe,
In this funky ride, we’re ready to immerse.
(Bridge)
In a stardust explosion, see the colors blend,
Unity in the groove, weâll never reach an end.
Cosmic creature dances, itâs our destiny,
Funkonauts exploring, wild and ever free.
(Chorus)
Funkonaut, letâs rise up high,
Floating through the ether, just you and I.
Groove with the beats of the universe,
In this funky ride, we’re ready to immerse.
(Outro)
So hold on tight, âcause weâre sailing through the stars,
A funk-infused adventure, weâll shatter all the bars.
With every note we play, the universe will sway,
Funkonaut forever, letâs groove the night away!
Then paste those lyrics in Suno.
You can also mix both lyrics, take the intro of the firstly generated lyrics and combine them with the second ones for example.
And here is the final track that I generated after a few tries:

Finally, if you are planning to use this track on YouTube as a Short, type this in your GPT:
“I will need a title for a YouTube Short of this song, as well as a viral hook + Description full of keywords (make sure to add this at the end of the description: “Check our Suno profile at https://suno.com/@bassmansion – Follow us and like our songs!”) and at least 500 chars tags (without hashtags) – use as many words as possible in the description.”
The replies comes:
đ„ YouTube Short Title
FUNKONAUT đ Get Funky in Space with This Retro Jam!
đ„ Viral Hook (Text Overlay / First 3 Seconds Spoken)
“What if Jamiroquai went intergalactic? đœđșFunk just left Earth.”

Let me know if you want a thumbnail concept or caption for Instagram/TikTok too!
The GPT tells me that despite Suno creating images, ChatGPT can create a picture for the song for you. So I ask it to go ahead and show me what it can do. After creating the first one (on the left), I asked “Maybe avoid a silhouette of Jamiroquai, but can you keep the same vibe and everything the same but instead of a Jamiroquai silhouette, can you replace it with a space craft silhouette?” and it created the one on the right.
Not quite what I wanted, so I used Photoshop to mash both up.

To change the song image in Suno, click Song Details after clicking the three dots next to your profile name. To be able to create a YouTube Short of your song, visit your Suno profile, then locate the song you have just created, click the three dots and choose Download > Video.
And here you have it. I hope you liked this article and I will soon publish a YouTube video about the technique explained in this blog post.
Here is the same song as a YouTube Short: https://youtube.com/shorts/OzA-qWS_jHQ
